About our school

Where is the Hiroshima Academy?
Hiroshima Academy is a school located in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima. The closest station to the school is Jr Fukuyama Station. It is about 5 minutes foot from the Fukuyama station to our school.
When could I enroll?
it depends on the course you want to enroll in. 2-year course is enrolled in April and the 1.5-year course is enrolled in October.
Please tell me the nationality of the students enrolled in Hiroshima Academy.
There are students who Vietnam, Nepal, Indonesia, Thai, Bangradesh, Myanmer as of July 2021.
How do I apply to your school.
Please prepare the required documents at your Japanese language school and submit them by the due date. After reviewing the documents, we'll interview you and submit the documents to the Immigration Bureau.
What do I need for admission?
The documents required for the 2-year course and the 1.5-year course are the same. Please check the Documents page.
What visa do I need to enroll in Hiroshima Academy?
A student visa is required to study for a long time in Japan. If you have another visa and wish enroll, please contact us.
Please tell me the time for studying in your school.
There are classes to study in AM and classes to study in PM. Both classes study 4 hours a day.
※AM 08:50~12:40, PM 13:10~17:00
How do you decide my study time?
After enrollment, a placement test will be conducted to determine the best class for your level.
What kind of extracurricular activities are there other than studying?
There are many World Heritage Sites in Hiroshima, so you can tour them or go to a company to tour the factory. In winter, there is an ice skating experience.
Do you have a scholarship system?
Our school have scholarship systems that depending on the result of JLPT and your attendance rate in our school. For details, please check the Scholarship system overview page.

About Life in Japan

What kind of city is Fukuyama?
Fukuyama is a city with a population of about 470,000 and is not a big city. However, there are many tourist attractions in Fukuyama, and there are also Shinkansen station, so many foreign tourists visit.
What should I do if I get sick or injured?
We have 24-hour support call, if you get sick or injured, please call to the school. However it is also important to check in advance the hospitals near you live.
Can I work part-time job?
Yes, you can. However, you will need to obtain permission from the Immigration Bureau for activities outside the status of qualification. If you get permission from the Immigration Bureu, you can work part-time for up to 28 hours a week.(Spring vacation, summer vacation, and winter vacation are up to 40 hours a week.)
How much does it cost to live a month in Japan.
The living expenses in Japan of the student are said to be about 70,000 JPY per month, excluding school fees. When you enter Japan, you are desirable to have enough money to live for about 2 to 3 months.
Can I buy a school commuter pass?
Yes, you can. and you can also use the student discont when using JR for long-distance travel in Japan.
What are the facilities in the dormitory?
The dormitory is equipped with most of the facilities necessary for daily life(Home appliances, beddings, etc.). We also offer free rental of bicycles. Please prepare only tableware and other items for personal use.
Can I open a bank account?
Yes, you can. If you open a bank account, our staff will go to the bank with you to complote the process.
